Daniel Scheibe

Daniel Scheibe is a member of the communications team at the Weizenbaum Institute and shares responsibility for the institute’s social media channels. In this role, he works closely with researchers to present academic content in a way that is accessible to a variety of audiences.

Daniel studied cultural anthropology and German language and literature in Frankfurt, Mainz, and Tallinn, and completed his master’s degree in cultural anthropology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in September 2025.

In his theses, he explored the effects of digitalization on various aspects of life: While his bachelor’s thesis focused on the tension between currently established norms regarding constant availability and the simultaneous desire for productivity, his master’s thesis examined digital negotiation processes involving objects of memory culture within the context of a gamified media landscape.
