Jakob Ohme

Jakob Ohme is Research Group Lead  of the “Digital News Dynamics” group at the Weizenbaum Institute and Fellow at the Digital Communication Methods Lab at the University of Amsterdam.

Prior to his work in Berlin, he worked as Postdoctoral Researcher at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR), University of Amsterdam, and as an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Journalism, University of Southern Denmark, where he also earned his PhD degree in 2017.

His research interests center around the impact of digital and mobile communication on news exposure and political behavior in digital democracies, focusing on generational differences in media use and political socialization.

He has a special interest in developing digital methods in political communication and journalism research.
