Committees

The Weizenbaum Institute has three committees according to its rules of procedure: the Board of Trustees, the Advisory Board and the Scientific Council.

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees of the research collaborative project advises the Board of Directors on the strategic direction of the Institute and its organization. The Board of Trustees is composed of the presidents of the individual partners or their representatives, two representatives of the BMBF, and one representative of the State of Berlin. The chairmanship of the Board of Trustees and the deputy chairmanship are appointed by the BMBF.

Advisory Board

The Advisory Board advises the board of directors and the administrative office on the development and implementation of the Institute's strategic orientation, its transfer formats, its work with the network partners, and its external presentation. The Advisory Board is made up of representatives from science, civil society, politics, business, and the media.

Institute Council

The Institute Council is the successor of the Scientific Council and the central place for exchange on Institute matters, in which all relevant status groups are represented. The Executive Board regularly reports to the Institute Council on matters of Institute strategy, research, dialogue with society, career development and other significant issues. The Institute Council deliberates on these issues and can comment on them.
