Julia Matthiessen

Former Doctoral Researcher

Julia Matthiessen is psychologist primarily specialized in industrial and organisational psychology. She works as a research assistant in RG 7 “Education and training in the digital society”. Additionally, she started her Ph.D. at the University of Potsdam under the supervision of Prof Gronau. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, after which she moved to Freiburg for a Master's degree in Cognition, Learning and Work.

Within her research activities at the Weizenbaum Institute, she is primarily concerned with the topic of "continuing vocational training and competence management in the context of digitization". Leading questions are which competencies are relevant for which actors, roles and process sections and how to derive corresponding process-related and individualised training needs.
