Research Fellow

About

Julia Krämer is a PhD researcher in Empirical Legal Studies and Data Protection Law at Erasmus School of Law in Rotterdam. Her research explores the extent to which EU data protection law is able to curb the platform power of mobile platforms in setting privacy standards, with a special focus on the role of app stores and mobile operating systems. Within this project, she is combining both doctrinal (legal) methods with empirical insights.

Prior to her PhD, she gained experience in platform regulation through internships at the Monopolies Commission and the German Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt). Additionally, she developed skills in empirical methods and programming while working at the ZEW (Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research).
