Prof. Dr. Lena Ulbricht
Lena Ulbricht is interim professor in Political Theory at the Technical University Munich for the year 2023/2024. Lena Ulbricht co-leads the research group "Technology, Power, and Domination". Her work explores how theories of power and democracy can add to the regulation of digital technologies and platforms. Another strand of her work analyzes the power implications of public sector platforms and software and the quantification of populations in modern states.
She obtained her habilitation in political science at the University of Bremen with a thesis about “Governance with Digital Technologies and the Role of the State”. Previously she obtained her PhD in political science at the Humboldt-University of Berlin with a book about policy-making in German federalism. Lena Ulbricht is elected speaker of the DVPW working group Politics and Digitalization and co-host of the intersectional feminist podcast Purple Code.
