Ingolf Gunnar Anton Pernice

Doctoral Researcher

Ingolf G. A. Pernice research associate at the Weizenbaum Institute in the interdisciplinary research group “Trust in Distributed Environments” and at the Humboldt University of Berlin in the Department of Computer Engineering. Ingolf holds a B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Leipzig and a M.Sc. in Financial Economics from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where he was part of the “Accounting and Finance Fellows” promotion program. Ingolf completed internships at Targobank AG & Co. KGaA (Consumer Banking) and Ernst & Young GmbH WPG (Transaction Advisory). During his studies, Ingolf worked as a research assistant at the Corporate Finance Institute of the Humboldt University in Berlin and for research projects in the field of SME and public administration at the Universidade Ijuí-RS.

His research focuses on digital, decentralized money systems. In particular, Ingolf investigates causes of monetary instability of crypto currencies, possibilities of forecasting price volatility and price modeling. Other areas of interest include regulatory approaches to crypto currencies and their social benefits and costs. Ingolf promotes the scientific exchange between industry and science within the organization of the Blockchain Nights of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
